Belize Beach
The former British colony is the second smallest of the Latin American countries and the only one with English as its official language. It is located on the Caribbean coast between Mexico and Guatemala, in the heart of the former realm of the Mayas. Especially the jungles and rainforests of Belize hold many surprises for nature lovers: hidden Maya ruins, a large array of unique animals such as the jaguar, and many spectacular jungle lodges. Diving is a popular pastime along the coast and on the countless cays (islands). The second-largest barrier reef in the world and the unmistakable Big Blue Hole are just some of the sensational underwater highlights that Belize has to offer.

Guatemala is known as the country of everlasting spring and is colorful like no other. The most impressive of the currently accessible Maya cities, Tikal, lies in the jungle of the mystical region around the Petén-Itzá lake. In the highlands, the colonial town Antigua, lively Indio markets and the deep blue Atitlán lake are surrounded by an impressive backdrop of several volcanoes. The Guatemalans are very sincere and speak over 50 indigenous languages besides Spanish, of which half are Maya dialects. On the Caribbean side, the coast of the Rio Dulce region, populated by the Garifunas (descendants of African slaves), and remote dark beaches with little tourist activity await you.

Panama is located on the small strip of land that connects Central and South America. On the Caribbean side, the island paradise Bocas del Toro and the San Blas archipelago, comprised of 360 small palm islands with white beaches, are a dream for sailors.
